Thread: 46" RAF Crash Tender pieces template |
25/09/2023 15:20:25 |
Hi Leonardo, I assume they are the plans for the Aerokits 46" Crash Tender which is all you get when you buy the kit, I think Harry Smith from Australia would have the templates ? maybe worth a Private message to him. It is not that difficult to draft the bulkheads from the plan & elevation you have these were drafted for the Sea Queen in that way all the dimension you need are on your drawing. |

July 2018 issue , quite a fun little boat as I recall |

The centre fold A 3 pull out plans concept has been around for donkey's years going back to Vic Smeed's design's in Model Maker magazine the pre-runner to Model Boats. It's rather a shame these were lost and not passed on for sale, I did a series of 4 designs during 2018 - 19 for Graham Ashby & Martyn then editors. The one I like best I can't find Mini Mist a smaller version of Vic's Silver Mist I'm sure if the current production team went back through the older issues they would pick up some tips ? Regards Ray |

Thread: Creating a model boat plan to sell |
18/09/2023 10:28:07 |
Hi Haydn, I'm in agreement with all the comments so far, being brutal you need to practice the whole process from deciding on which type of boat, produce a drawing you can build from, build it taking photos at each stage, finish it to a good standard, sail it take more pictures, write the article text, and a description of each photo and see how long that process takes Good luck with what ever you decide , review the SARIK range of plans to see if you can find any gaps, It's more of an old archive of design's you can purchase and hasn't been added too since 2016 when it was bought from Mytime Media by Traplet who went broke then SARIK. Hi All, Taught at school & home by dad Imperial Worked 51 years in Metric in construction industry I still think in Feet & Inches I find the Imperial measurements much easier to use for our modelling scales 1/12th 1/24th 1/48th & 1/96th I just google everything conversion wise these days Still it's a personnel thing right !! We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.
In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.
The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!
I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
