Could be a long sell, as the potential owner needs both the storage room and transport capacity!

There were no takers for the 6 foot Diamond, after several months, and that was offered free of charge.

But you never know!! Put an advert in the mag, for a start.

True Ashley and as I've said I'm in no rush to sell her I'm in negotiations with my son on a smaller scale to start start so will probably keep her unless a suitable lifeboat comes up for him I always think this hobby isn't about how much something is worth more about the sense of achievement it gives you ect .that feeling of that's my model and I'm proud because just that she's mine !! So to be honest the money route isn't a rabbit hole I want to go down yet until I want a change .I sold my dragon ferry and have always regretted doing that so I won't be selling I think swapping with like minded people who love the hobby is best I'm sure your agree. Hi Ashley,

It's a great shame Morton's started charging for what used to be the free adds in my view, your idea of an advert in the magazine would be great, There have been very few adverts placed in the magazine since it was re-introduced, as most models are in the £75 - £150 range the potential sellers are obviously put off by the fee.

That said, Lifeboat sales are an Enigma with such high values, but the kits & running gear were always were very expensive for the mouldings when they were commercially available.

Neil is the smartest guy on the forum, building sort after valuable models, but there are so many bits !!

Regards Ray

SO.....had my beautiful model on ebay a lovely chap from the British maritime museum in Greenwich called ,who I can verify as my freind goes drinking with him on a far to frequent basis at lunch time "liquid lunch "and suggested I remove this item ASAP as I've undersold it by some considerable amount !!! and perhaps ebay is not the correct place for my model on the plus side found room for my sons lifeboat!!!! At his girlfriends lol so for now my model is back on the shelf and I'm now going to add even more fine details .Will of course be sharing as I go !! All the best Anthony

If the model is really top quality you may be able to sell it via Charles Miller but that will of course incur auction costs.

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.

In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.

The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their  expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!

I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
