hi Anthony, go on to this site on facebook and message a mate of mine, he tends to buy and sell model boats and might be abole to do a deal with you.

His name is Mike Davies, and the site is Model Lifeboats Enthusiasts

or he also frequents RNLI RC LIFEBOATS again on facebook whjen he is not tinkering with or riding his lambretta's

anthony, by whitby lifeboat, do you mean the older Mersey class lifeboat or the new Shannon class lifeboat.

Hi Neil, Whitby never had a Mersey mate. They currently have a Trent (George and Mary Webb 14-14) which is soon going to be replaced with a Shannon (it will be one of the 'Launch a Memory' Shannons).

They have had a Waveney (The White Rose of Yorkshire 44-012) and a Tyne (City of Sheffield 47-023) plus earlier Watsons etc

Many thanks guys will ask a friend to take a look at his page ect as I'm not on Facebook as otherwise he will just have to wait as I don't have the room for a lifeboat and a frigate lol and to be honest I've explained to my son these things take time so hopefully fingers crossed 🤞 would do him some good to realise you just can't press a button and there it is lol cheers all again Anthony

had a word with mike last night and he asked me to ask you whether he could buy the frigate from you as he doesn't have any lifeboats at the moment...if you send me a message with your email on [don't put your email address up on open forum as scammers pick them up easily] but via the forum messenger that is on here, i'll then email you with my email address......take a good few photos of the frigate and sent them with dims of the model to me with a price you want and i'll send them to him with a copy of the email to you too.

by the way, there is a fully built model of Whitby's current Trent lifeboat, 14-14 for sale on ebay for a reasonable price at the moment. but it is at 16th scale.............12th scale trents are fetching more than twice that price and rarer than rocking horse poo.

Cheers Neil yeah I saw that one yesterday thing is my hms arrow is a fairly rare model too as she's not quite fleetscale about 9 inches longer at 72inches and 8inches wide so putting a prive evaluation is going to be hard hence why a swap was the route I was thinking one similar a fleetscale one went for 2k but I'm not an expert the model was given to me in part payment for some freelance work I did .thanks again Anthony

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.

In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.

The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their  expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!

I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
