1 forum posts | Hi, I'm hoping there are some members here that may be able to help me please? I'm returning to model boating after a long absence, 30 years ago, I built from kit a 47" Huntsman, fitted with a .61 glow engine. I'm happy to convert to electric [as finding ponds allowing IC power now is proving tricky/!] I notice Bushey Park has a boating pond, however, will they allow electric powered craft? And is the pond even suitable for model boating these days? Clapham pond is also close, but I'm not sure what the powered operating regs are? I recall there is a model yacht club operating from the site with specific times set aside for them. Many thanks all. Alex |

![]() 8098 forum posts 194 photos | A surprised Ashley, who seems to nave missed this thread completely. Obviously Bushy Park is the one for you! Electric and sail, no I/c. Free parking (currently), car park....oooooh....40 seconds walk from a nice concrete jetty. It’s a bit shallow for deep-ish sailing keels. Entry via The Hampton court facing gate due to central road closure. Loo 5 mins walk away, catering van for coffees/tea cakes and soss rolls. we meet on Sundays (not a club) but it’s open every day for boating. Ashley

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.
In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.
The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!
I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
